Last hour of Radio Luxembourg 208 tonight Dec. 31 with the original DJs

I have just been informed that TONIGHT at midnight UK time (1am CET) the Mike Hollis produced closedown from 1991 (which I recently edited) will be played on 1440kHz/208m !!! - on the final final day that 208 will be on air - you will have on last chance to listen to the famous 208 DJs on that famous frequency before they switch it off

Huge thanks to my friends at RTL for arranging this - you know who you are :-)

Wow! - I am so happy that RTL are doing this.

Just in case you can't catch it on 208 - the master is here: http://www.mediafire.com/…/rs9…/208_Last_show_31.12.1991.mp3 (Mike Knight in the Facebook Group "Radio Luxembourg Fans" via Jan Edh, ARC)

Czech MW stations closing down on January 4, 2016

"This news coming from Cesky Rozhlas is a complete surprise. Dr Hansjörg Biener quotes the official website in his article written today on Ydun's MediumWave Info.
On 04 January 2016 the following stations will close:

270kHz Uherské Hrad (iště - Topolná
639kHz Praha - Liblice
954kHz Brno - Dobrochov
954kHz České Budějovice - Hosova Kolonie
954kHz Karlovy Vary - Stará Role
1332kHz Moravské Budějovice - Domamil

The only surviving station will be Ostrava Svinov on 639kHz which will only broadcast from 05 January 2016 between 1500-2300UTC." (MediumWave Info via Bengt Ericson, ARC)

Update from Ydun M. Ritz:

I think there is a misunderstanding here! As far as I can see, it is just CroPlus, who leaves MW except for 639 kHz. CRo2 will still use the above MW frequencies.

Reception of Bergen Kringkaster in Växjö

NORWAY
The Norwegian transmitter on 1611 kHz broadcasting tests for Bergen Kringkaster and Radio Northern Light was coming thru on December 13th at 2100 UTC. Signal poor but audiable. I am hoping for more tests, but with more power than 65 watts. The distance between Bergen transmitter and Växjö is 730 km straight line. An audiofile has been sent to Bergen.        (Bengt Ericson, ARC)
